Shelia's Shirts

Shelia Campbell is a self-taught sketch and folk artist who is becoming recognized for her beautifully detailed pencil sketches of all types of critters and her delightful watercolor paintings.  After retiring from a 22-year career in a local doctor’s office, Shelia has found her passions – first in sketching and recently in acrylic and watercolor painting. She loves sketching lovable critters and finds this time both enjoyable and relaxing. She also now spends time each day in front of her easel perfecting her brush work as she recreates southern flowers and scenes on canvas.

Shelia has created a series of unique images of enchanting critters that are perfect for both nursery and den or living room. These charming creations are ideal for bringing a wonderfully magical atmosphere to any room.  Shelia also accepts commission requests.

She also has a line of custom greeting cards featuring her artwork. This began with her love of sending real snail-mail cards to friends. The response (and appreciation) for her handwritten messages and her artistic greeting cards have inspired another new direction for her art.

The Campbells live in their tiny house on their farm outside of Opp, Alabama. With her photographer/writer husband David and an assortment of dogs and cats, Shelia spends much of her time creating with her pencils and brushes. She is also an avid reader and a dabbler in hydroponics and watermelon gardening. Shelia is represented by the gallery of the Opp Cultural Arts Center in downtown Opp, AL.  If you’d like to know more about Shelia and her artwork, please visit the gallery or drop her an email at SheliaCampbell131@gmail.com. She’d be delighted to hear from you.
